The Sella Group, a distinctive alpenstock in the Dolomites, is surrounded by the four Dolomite passes Passo Gardena, Passo Pordoi, Passo Sella and Passo di Campolongo. These passes can be conquered doing the famous Sella Ronda in winter, a ski round trip around the impressive Sella Massif, and the Sellaronda Bike Day by bike in summer. The Sella Group or Gruppo del Sella is located partially on South Tyrolan territory and partially in the neighbouring provinces Trentino and Veneto. The highest summit is the Piz Boé (3,152 m a.s.l.), which is a very popular mountain, above all due to the fabulous view it provides on the Val di Fassa valley and its surroundings.
Moreover it is one of the mountains of 3,000 m of the Dolomites that can be climbed rather easily, starting at the Pordoi Pass. Other famous peaks are the Cima Pisciadù (2,985 m a.s.l.) and Mt. Piz da Lech de Boè (2,910 m a.s.l.). Those who love climbing will be familiar with the Sella Pinnacles, which are among the most popular rock climbs in the Dolomites. Hikers, however, will enjoy the Dolomite High Route no. 2 taking them across this alpenstock, or - less challening - the hike to the Toni Demetz Mountain Hut. In winter, the ski tour to Mount Col Toronn is really popular.
