In the Klausberg Hiking Area in the Valle Aurina valley, a little mountain lake is located, Lake Chiusetta. On the Klausberg, it is one of the natural treasures, besides excursion destinations such as the Family Park, the new Zipline, the Klausberg Flitzer, and the ski slopes in winter. On its waterfront there are several possibilities to relax on the foot of the Durreck Group and to enjoy the unforgettable panoramic view on the Zillertal Alps. At the mountain station of the Klausberg Cable Car in Cadipietra, the path proceeds past several managed mountain huts at 1,600 m a.s.l.
Always following the marker no. 33, the hike leads to Lake Chiusetta at 2,162 m a.s.l. after about 1.5 hours walking time. In good weather conditions, the impressive peaks are reflected in the water. Behind the Lake Chiusetta (Klaussee), well-known gigantic mountains of the Zillertal Alps rise, like the 3,225 m high Monte Lovello and Mt. Sasso Nero. Those who don't have enough, can climb the peak of the Monte Fumo or hike further to the "Breite Rast" (2,098 m a.s.l., about 1 hour).
Altitude: 2,162 m a.s.l.
