Four thematic areas in the new Stieber Mooseum in the Val Passiria tell of hydropower and electricity generation

The Stieber Mooseum was opened in 2022 in the old hydroelectric power station in Plata (Platt) near Moso in Passiria, which together with the Timmel Transit - Passo del Rombo Experience along the Passo del Rombo Road and the Bunker Mooseum forms the UpperPassiria Museum. Another structure is under construction: the KultMuseum Plata in the old rectory.
The old hydroelectric power station in Moso has thus been given a new purpose and now tells the story of hydroelectric power. You can discover four thematic areas here: water power and how it is used for humans, the history of technology in an impressive dark room after the sluice, the experimental room and faces and stories in the Upper Val Passiria.
The museum takes its name from the nearby Stieber Waterfall. It is located between Moso in Passiria (Moos in Passeier) and Plata (Platt) and can be reached in a beautiful one-hour hike which starts in Moso. The Plan Stream thunders down the rock walls here, first 19 metres and then 18 metres. In addition, the trail through the Passirio Gorge starts very close to the hydroelectric power station. And how can the Stieber Mooseum be reached? The old hydroelectric power station in Moso is located near the sports ground, and the bus stops there (bus stop: Stieber Wasserfall).
