The medieval Arcades of Egna village on the Wine Road are the place where old architecture meets modern art: The Arcade House no. 26 houses the Kunstforum Bassa Atesina, which organises several exhibitions of regional and international artists every year. This is where artists and interested people meet, where local art also finds a suitable stage.
The Kunstforum Bassa Atesina - "Kunstforum Unterland" in German, "Kunstforum Bassa Atesina" in Italian - was founded in 1997 with the aim of offering contemporary artists a place to exhibit their own works of art, but also to communicate this art and bring it to a wider audience. Every year, six artists are selected whose works are presented in Egna in individual exhibitions. Visitors should be confronted with the current art positions and be sensitised to them.
Readings, book presentations and discussions round off the programme. And how to reach the Kunstforum (literally: Art Forum) Bassa Atesina? It is located under the Arcades of Egna. Near the historic centre there's a bus stop (e.g. bus no. 120 from Bolzano) as well as a parking space.
