Historic and contemporary photography at the Foto Forum Gallery in the old town of Bolzano
Image gallery: Foto Forum Gallery
Bolzano, the capital of South Tyrol, offers a central hub for photography enthusiasts: the Foto Forum Gallery in the Via Weggenstein road. Within this space in Bolzano's Old Town, the "foto-forum / South Tyrolean Society for Photography" association presents seven exhibitions annually.
These exhibitions focus on the works of historic and contemporary photographers and photo artists. You can explore the evolution and diversity of materials, techniques, and subject matter employed throughout photographic history. Founded in 1991, the association also organises lectures, showcases photo books, and publishes its own works in addition to the exhibitions.
The barrier-free gallery extends across two floors. Its layout allows you to appreciate the photographs both up close and from a distance. In the summer, children's workshops are held.
How to get to the art gallery: The Via Weggenstein road is located very close to the Arcades of Bolzano and the South Tyrol Museum of Nature. From the Piazza Walther square, which is served by most city bus routes and has a multi-storey car park, it's just a few minutes' walk.
