Amidst the vineyards of Castelvecchio near Caldaro lies the Lieselehof, a winery with its own cellar. Here, Werner Morandell, the owner of the estate and a passionate winemaker, created an educational grapevine path featuring 350 different grape varieties from all over the world.
Informative signs provide details about each grape variety, its country of origin, and its parentage. Werner Morandell offers guided tours of the educational trail, providing fascinating insights into viticulture. You can also participate in wine seminars and tastings for beginners and connoisseurs.
The Lieselehof's high-quality organic wines are, of course, also available for purchase. Tip: Located in the Via Oro road in Caldaro, the South Tyrolean Wine Museum, the first wine museum south of the Alps, makes for a perfect end to a cultural day devoted entirely to South Tyrolean wine.
How to get to the Caldaro Vine Museum (Rebenmuseum Kaltern): It's situated in Caldaro on the Wine Road, more precisely in the Via Kardatsch road no. 6 in Castelvecchio. Parking is available.
