Experience contemporary art bilingually: exhibitions and more in Bolzano
Image gallery: Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation
Below Rafenstein Castle, near the former valley station of the San Genesio Cable Car, decommissioned in 2020, the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation has been located since 2011. Here, works from the art collection of the founder, after whom it is named, are displayed.
In addition, the Foundation organises special exhibitions, offers artist residencies and conducts guided tours - including those for school groups. The annual programme presents two site-specific solo exhibitions by international artists and seven "Fondazione Live" events in cooperation with local cultural associations. The Foundation aims to introduce those interested in art and architecture to contemporary art in both German and Italian, and to stimulate a dialogue between architecture, art, innovation, and artistic research.
The location in the Centro-Piani district is ideal for this purpose. The building, designed by architects W. Angonese and A. Marastoni, incorporates, among other materials, porphyry from the nearby cliffs. How to get to the museum: The Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation is located in the Via Rafenstein road on the outskirts of Bolzano, below the ruins of Rafenstein Castle.
The Via Rafenstein bus stop for line 156 (Bolzano-San Genesio) is in the immediate vicinity. As a rule, a "Long Evening" takes place once a month, on Fridays.
