Above the town of Vipiteno, the leisure mountain Monte Cavallo rises, a summit of the Stubai Alps that turns into a popular skiing area in winter. The new Monte Cavallo Cable Car, which has been newly built and reopened in 2022, takes you up to the mountain station at approx. 1,860 m a.s.l. There, a popular excursion destination for young and old has been created.
The Rossy Park with donkeys, ponies, dwarf sheep, goats and hares, is also home to llamas and alpacas. They accompany you on a special summer hike: Llama-Trekking. Also a playground can be found here in the middle of the stunning alpine world of the Valle Isarco valley. The unique panoramic view includes the Zillertal Alps and the Dolomites, the Sarentino Alps and the Stubai Alps. New in 2024 is the "Rossy Walk", a 3 km long theme path suitable for prams, where Rossy, the friendly and curious little horse, takes children on an adventurous journey.
Mt. Cavallo features also some other highlights, such as the new Panorama Mountain Coaster - a summer toboggan run on rails near the Rossy Park - and the Skytrek Adventure Park at the valley station. And how to reach the Rossy Park? The valley station is only a 2-minute walk from the centre of Vipiteno. A parking space is available, also the Vipiteno city bus stops here.
