Very special animal encounters, that's what the Dobbiaco Wildlife Park (Wildpark Toblach) in Carbonin Vecchia near Dobbiaco village, the main village of Dobbiaco. In a spacious area, there is a huge variety of animals that can be admired: Adorable raccoons, majestic deer and roes, ibexes and mouflons, domestic pigs and cheeky goats, lynxes and snowy owls as well as buzzards, pheasants and eagle owls make not only children's hearts leap for joy in a visit.
Right at the entrance of the 11 hectares large park in the Upper Val Pusteria you can purchase some fodder for the animals. Isn't it a great feeling when the four-legged friends eat from the palm of your hand?! Furthermore there's a small playground with swings and slides. The Mahlerstube tavern, however, famous for its dishes of wild game and South Tyrolean delicacies such as dumplings and Schlutzkrapfen (pastry filled with spinach and quark), has been closed.
And how to reach the park? A small road turns from Dobbiaco village towards Carbonin Vecchia, parking is available. Also the busses no. 443, 442 and 441 run from Dobbiaco towards Carbonin Vecchia, whereas by foot a pleasant trail takes you to the park, which leads also past the lift facilities of the Skicenter Rienza which belong to the 3 Zinnen Dolomites Ski Resort in the Upper Val Pusteria. Another walk leads from the wildlife park to the Gustav Mahler Composing Hut.

The Dobbiaco Wildlife Park stays open in summer and in winter (only on certain days), closed in spring (April) and in autumn (November).
Winter season start 2024/25 in early December, summer season start 2025 in early May.
