Cheese belongs to our South Tyrolean valleys, just like the mountains, the wine and the farmers. Without cheese, our lives would only be half as good. And so, on this tour, we hike into the heart of cheese, so to speak. Where it is made, where it is produced, where it matures and where it is enjoyed. The day begins at Hotel Mühlwald in the side valley of the same name in the Ahrntal. We take a leisurely stroll along the stream until our wings of enthusiasm carry us up to a small and quite impressive waterfall. When we have all looked enough, we descend again, cross the stream and thus change the side of the valley. A little further up, then we reach the "Eggemoa Hof". There, at an altitude of 1300 metres, delicacies are produced that have earned a great reputation. They have sonorous names like Candidum, Larix, Steiner, Carbo or Herbarius and they are real delicacies in the big world of cheese. Of course, they are produced with South Tyrolean love, but above all, all these cheeses are the results of experience and skill, an obsession with detail and the will to meet the taste of cheese lovers. The stories of the Steiner family and of their farm are special and above all worth hearing. So on this day, immerse yourself up to your neck in the subject of cheese. It will be worth it, because sometimes you go a long way to get a piece of cheese. And we will taste the best of the good at the Eggemoa farm and let it melt in our mouths.
