Description
Considered among the most interesting vibraphonists on the Italian and international scene, Mirra collaborates with great improvisers on the world stage, including Mulatu Astatke, Michel Portal, Shabaka Hutchings, Rob Mazurek, Trilok Gurtu, William Parker, Damon Locks, Fred Frith, Ballakè Sissoko, Jeff Parker, Tomeka Reid and many others. From 2013 to 2018 he was named best Italian vibraphonist by the trade magazine Jazz it. In 2014 and 2015 he was also considered among the best musicians of the year by the critics of Musica Jazz magazine. As in a cubist painting, the performer offers a live Suite in two-dimensional form. Unusual-sounding compositions alternate with structural and free improvisations in a variable and unpredictable manner. A free journey of sound fantasies through time and space by a world-class virtuoso.
