Laurianne Langevin-Cyrille Doublet (F)
Info
Description
Laurianne Langevin and Cyrille Doublet wanted to bring together all the voices of Paris in a single embrace of swing and poetry that has the polish of the capital and the softness of a confidence. In this embrace, the great voices that have made the history of French song - Piaf, of course, along with Yves Montand, Charles Aznavour or Serge Gainsbourg - but also all that the Ville-Lumières has inspired in the greatest exponents of American jazz, from Miles Davis to Chet Baker, from George Gershwin to Vernon Duke. This embrace in which the lights of New York seem to be reflected in those of Paris, Laurianne and Cyrille have called it Paris Lullaby.
‘Cyrille Doublet and Laurianne Langevin's homage to France through the lens of jazz is intimate and delicate. If it were not an obsolete word, it could be defined as ‘beautiful’ in its best sense. Beauty understood as limpid and luminous. Musical and intense with the delicate touch of Cyrille Doublet and the moving voice of Laurianne Langevin. Acception therefore becomes exception.’ (Paolo Fresu)
