The biotope Raiermoos offers ideal conditions for a relaxing stay in the heart of nature
Image gallery: Rasa
Rasa is surrounded by fruit orchards and is located on the high plateau of Naz Sciaves at 842 m asl. In the west and south it falls away sharply towards the valley basin of Bressanone and the vine-growing area of Novacella. In the north and east, Rasa is surrounded by pine forests and the biotope Raiermoos.
This protected area can best be experienced on the nature trail. The plants that grow in this area are reeds, bulrushes and buck bean. Also frogs, vipers, red-backed shrikes, lapwings, wasp spiders and mantis have their habitat in this nature reserve. You can also make a walk to Bressanone or Millan and its pilgrimage church Madonna della Sabbia.
The S. Aegidius church, a late-Gothic construction that is consecrated to the patron saint of vine-growing, is interesting from a historic-artistic viewpoint. The day of the patron saint in September is celebrated by distributing bread.
