At an altitude of almost 1,000 m stretches the idyllic village that stands for active holidays like no other: Riscone (Reischach). It can be reached via the road that leads uphill past Brunico Castle. The holiday destination owes its name to the nobles of Rischon: Today, Riscone presents itself in the midst of green meadows and cultivated fields in summer, and in a white winter coat in the cold months of the year. Then the legendary Plan de Corones opens its gates for the ski season.
The lift facilities start at the edge of Riscone. Today, the mountain can be reached from four sides - Riscone, Perca, Valdaora and San Vigilio di Marebbe - and in winter it is connected to the Dolomiti Superski carousel with the famous Sellaronda ski round trip. In summer, it features a downhill trail: The queen's stage for mountain bikers leads up to the Plan de Corones, following the tracks of the legendary Giro d'Italia. The hiking routes, on the other hand, can be combined with a stop at one of the two new museums at the top: the LUMEN and the MMM Corones.
The range of activities is continued in the valley, at the edge of Riscone there is the Reiperting Sports Park. There you will find the spacious grounds of the Val Pusteria Golf Club, there an outdoor enclosure with various animals will delight the little visitors, and there the Cron4 Riscone, an indoor swimming pool with wellness world, is located - the ideal relaxation after an active day in the mountains. The centre of Riscone then welcomes you with a café, shops and the parish church of St. Martin: The newly built ball playground there becomes an ice skating rink in winter.
